AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis was not a fan of Ralf Rangnick’s latest statements, a report claims, and he even called the German to discuss them.
Paolo Maldini made the headlines as he hit out at Rangnick in a staggering interview, stating: “Speaking of a role with full managerial powers in both the sports and technical areas, Rangnick invades areas where professionals work with regular contracts.
“I would therefore have a piece of advice for him, before learning Italian he should give a review to general concepts of respect.”
This of course came after Rangnick’s words on Friday in which he confirmed contacts with Milan but outlined the extent of the powers he would like to take the job.
According to il Giornale on Wednesday (via MilanLive), Rangnick’s latest statements have sparked an uproar at Milan as even Gazidis did not like his statements.
The Rossoneri CEO so called Rangnick’s agent to ask for an explanation regarding his statements. The German coach apologised explaining that during the interview he was in the car, headed for a charity event, and answered the question.
The report adds that Elliott and Gazidis continue to think that he is the right man for the new project, but to ‘beware of twists and turns’.
