Report: Competition for AC Milan as Man Utd join race for €20m Barcelona starlet

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are likely to face competition for Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo from Manchester United, a report claims.

MilanNews.it’s Anto Vitiello reported on Thursday that Todibo has said ‘yes’ to a Milan move, with talks between the two clubs ongoing as they look to strike a deal.

However, he also stated that Barcelona want to sell permanently and the Rossoneri find the €20million asking price too high, while the option of inserting a buy-back does not interest Paolo Maldini.

Nonetheless, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Friday morning that Milan are confident of getting a deal over the line due to the will of the player and Barca’s need to sell.

However, according to Calciomercato.com – who cite Spanish source Sport – there is another interested party Manchester United are ready to join the race to land the talented Todibo.

The French teenager will definitely leave the Nou Camp in January, the outlet states, and the Blaugrana are asking for no less than €20million and the insertion of a buy-back clause.
