Report: Milan close to double swoop – talks on with Chelsea as Pioli makes thoughts clear

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on a double swoop to reinforce the defence and attack ahead of the second half of the season, it is claimed.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Mandzukic is negotiating a salary with Milan ahead of potentially joining on a free transfer. The Croatia international is pleased with Milan’s interest and wants to return to Serie A.

The journalist adds that head coach Stefano Pioli has made his stance on the deal known: he is confident in Mandzukic’s experience and quality and would welcome him to the squad.

Konur also claims that Milan want to loan Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea with an option to buy. Tomori, who has not had a chance to find form with the Blues this season, is keen to go to Milan. Negotiations are under way between the two clubs, with the hopes of a deal being concluded that suits all parties.
