AC Milan are interested in a move for former Inter and current Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, according to a report.
It was recently claimed by il Corriere della Sport that new head coach Stefano Pioli was offered assurances by the Rossoneri hierarchy that he will be able to sign players in January.
Our correspondent Vito Angele then told us on Monday that a €30-40m budget has been set aside by owners Elliott Management for the winter mercato, with experienced players expected to be targeted.
According to Calciomercatonews.com, one of the players that Milan could target is Barcelona’s Rafinha Alcantara.
After breaking his anterior cruciate ligament last season, the 26-year-old was sent on loan to Celta Vigo for 2019-20, where he has so far appeared in all seven LaLiga games.
Due to his age he falls within Elliott’s parameters and with his deal expiring in 2021 it would also be a low-cost operation.
In addition, his time on loan at Inter means he knows the city and the league well.
