Report: Milan, Man Utd and Liverpool in battle for €55m-rated Ligue 1 sensation

By Isak Möller -

After yet another disappointing season (at least thus far), AC Milan are set for a revolution this summer as Ralf Rangnick is expected to replace Stefano Pioli. The transfer strategy is already clear: young players will be signed.

Therefore, as reported by the newspaper La Voix du Nord (via Calciomercato.com), the Rossoneri have added the 21-year-old midfielder Boubakary Soumaré to their wish list. However, the competition for the player is fierce.

In addition to Milan, the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are also monitoring the situation. Soumaré’s contract with Lille will expire in 2022 and his market value is believed to be £50m (Le10Sport via TeamTalk), thus around €55m.

The Rossoneri’s relations with Lille are good and their chief scout, Geoffrey Moncada, has always followed the French league with great interest. It remains to be seen if the parties will sit down and negotiate, as they did with Rafael Leao last summer.
