Report: Milan to make €15m bid for Strasbourg star – Spurs the main competition

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are readying an offer for Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan but face competition from a number of clubs, a report claims.

It was reported by MilanNews over the weekend that Milan have set their sights on Simakan, a 19-year-old who plays for Strasbourg, with contacts held between Milan and the player’s entourage.

According to RMC Sport, Milan made an attempt to sign Simakan in January and were unsuccessful, but the idea is to return to negotiating table with an offer of €15million.

Strasbourg are hoping they can trigger an auction though because there are a number of clubs interesting in signing him, such as RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Southampton – but Spurs are the main competition.

Badou Sambague – the player’s agent – recently discussed the future of his client, stating: “In this very complicated context, talking about transfer is not a priority, but it is obvious that opportunities exist for Mohamed.

“Leaving is an option. But first there is a season to end, then we will make a point with the company.”

Strasbourg aims to earn as much as possible from the sale of their prized young defender, given that his deal expires in June 2023.
