Report: Milan on the verge of completing €20m signing of Lille midfielder Sanches

By Isak Möller -

After their January attempt broke down at the last minute, AC Milan are once again working on the signing of Renato Sanches and it appears an agreement is close. Just details remain, a report claims.

As Franck Kessie has announced his departure, ready to leave for free as his contract will expire, Milan need to bring in a midfielder this summer. Renato Sanches has been identified as the right replacement and great progress has been made.

According to the Spanish outlet Onda Cero (via SempreMilan.it), the Portuguese midfielder is just a few details away as Milan are in talks with Lille over a deal worth just under €20m. An agreement is still lacking but it should arrive shortly.

Sanches could be one of the first signings this summer, along with Divock Origi who is set to arrive on a free transfer next month. First, however, Milan need to clarify the ownership situation as RedBird will sign the preliminary takeover contracts next week.

  1. If there’s any truth in this, and frankly I’ll believe it when I see it, I hope he’s not being paid the sums Mendes was reported to be pushing for.

  2. Move your ass Redbird. Lock up M&M and new deals for Leao, Benny, Kalulu, Tonali. Sign Origi Sanches and Botman or Bremer. Sign Udogie for back up LB to Theo. Get us a CAM (De ketelare or Lang) and RW (Antony) and possibly another new Striker as well. Then we can think about challenging for CL
