AC Milan expect to see an improvement in performances from Suso before they will seriously discuss a new deal, a report claims.
The Spaniard has struggled to find form to start the season, amassing no goals and just one assist through the first seven rounds of Serie A action.
Suso attracted interest from a number of clubs over the summer, as Fiorentina were linked with a moe, while Roma and Lyon were also credited with interest by a number of sources.
However he ended up staying, and Calciomercato.com recently claimed that Milan are looking to remove Suso’s €38m release clause, but that he would require a pay rise in order to do so.
According to Calciomercatonews.com, the management are waiting to see if the 25-year-old returns to form once being moved back to the right-wing under Stefano Pioli, his more natural position.
The report adds that only after obtaining good numbers in the assists column will the management seriously talk about a new deal.
The next few weeks are described as ‘very important’ for understanding the future of Suso at Milan.
