Report: Real Madrid make key decision on Modric; AC Milan on alert?

By Oliver Fisher -

Real Madrid have decided that the current season will be midfielder Luka Modric’s last at the club, according to a report.

A number of outlets linked Milan with a move for Modric over the summer, with director Zvonomir Boban apparently keen to bring his friend and compatriot to San Siro.

SportMediaset even stated that Milan were preparing a contract offer for the Croatia international, with Real having set an asking price of €20m.

It was also reported recently by Calciomercato.it that Milan are still interested in Modric, while in Spain it has been claimed that he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Now, a report on Calciomercato.com – who cite Fichajes.net – claims that it is now likely Modric parts with Real Madrid next summer.

Los Blancos are looking to the future and are apparently interested in the likes of Donny van de Beek, Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba to replace the 34-year-old.
