Reports: AC Milan sign Brazil U23 international goalkeeper as Donnarumma exit talk grows

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have completed the signing of Brazil U23 goalkeeper Ivan Quaresma Da Silva, according to multiple reports.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio and La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by acmilaninfo.com – Ivan Quaresma will be a Rossoneri player from June.

The young goalkeeper will turn 23 next July and currently players with Ponte Preta, with whom he has a deal until June 2023, however Milan have swooped definitively to ensure that he will arrive at San Siro in six months time.

He has played 67 times in the Brazilian second flight keeping 27 clean sheets, as well as having made two starts for Brazil’s U23 side without conceding a goal.

Now the question turns to the rest of the goalkeeping department. It remains to be seen whether Ivan will be the second or third choice, given that Pepe Reina will also return from his six-month loan at Aston Villa.

And, of course, there is the speculation surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma. Calciomercato recently claimed that the 20-year-old may be forced to leave in order to better his career if Milan’s fortunes do not improve, plus his renewal at this point appears difficult on the face of things.

Meanwhile, SportMediaset claim that Juventus have ‘decided to focus everything’ on signing Donnarumma in the summer and are ready to offer Gigio a five-year contract worth €9million per season (total of €45m).
