AC Milan are looking to bolster their squad with a centre-back this summer as captain Alessio Romagnoli is expected to join Lazio. And the replacement for the Rossoneri could arrive from the Biancocelesti
Romagnoli’s contract will expire at the end of the month and he’s keen on joining his boyhood club, Lazio. The transfer could be unlocked by the departure of Acerbi, whose contract with the Rome-based club is expiring.
According to Il Tempo (via MilanNews), Acerbi dreams of a return to Milan after failing to impress during his first spell with the club. At the age of 34, it could be one of his last adventures and he could take Romagnoli’s spot in the squad.
La Repubblica (via MilanNews) adds that Stefano Pioli likes the player and it’s a hypothesis that thus should be monitored. It seems unlikely for now, but Acerbi could be a low-cost solution for the defence this summer.
God no
Better than buying Pablo Mari for 15M as backup.

Boatman? Bremer? No, Acerbi! The guy who wasn’t even good enough for the worst Milan team in 20 years 🤣
