All is agreed for Pepe Reina to leave AC Milan and join Aston Villa, it is claimed, but only once the Rossoneri have sourced a replacement.
Mirko Calemme of Calciomercato.it claimed on Wednesday night that the Spaniard’s agent is currently negotiating with Milan regarding a potential move for his client to the English side.
The Spanish goalkeeper has spent 18 months at San Siro, and MilanNews.it claims the Diavolo will save almost €10million gross thanks to the departure of the 37-year-old.
Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira is claiming that it is practically a done deal as his agent has found an agreement with Aston Villa on a six-month deal with an extension of a year if Villa stay in the top flight. Milan, meanwhile, have sanctioned his exit.
Pepe #Reina’s agent (JM Quilon) is in Birmingham. Total agreement with #AstonVilla for a contract until June with automatic renewal in the event of a stay in the Premier League. #Milan have given its ok to Reina’s departure for free. Done deal 🔜 #transfers #AVFC

According to the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio though (via MilanNews.it), the Rossoneri will only let the former Liverpool man go once they have sourced and signed a replacement – a clue that they are not willing to put faith in Antonio Donnarumma.
