Reports: Brazilian duo express interest in Milan flop; formula not convincing

By Isak Möller -

Before the transfer window closes, Milan want to strengthen their defensive department but first, they need to make a few sales. Mateo Musacchio and, above all, Leo Duarte are on the transfer list.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan management had a meeting with Serginho yesterday. The former Rossoneri left-back was the intermediary of the deal that brought Duarte to the club in the first place.

The parties, obviously, discussed the future of the centre-back and these are the offers on the table: loan moves to Gremio or Sao Paolo. This was reported by Brazilian outlet Radio SP earlier today, as cited by the Calciomercato report.

Although a dry loan wouldn’t convince the Rossoneri, including a buy-out option could be crucial, or even an obligation to buy. It remains to be seen if any the clubs interested will respond to Milan’s stance, but it’s clear it won’t be easy to offload Duarte.
