Reports: Change in club strategy sees Juventus rejoin Milan and Inter in race for Tonali

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus have re-entered the race to sign Sandro Tonali after the appointment of Andrea Pirlo as their new head coach, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported recently that the Rossoneri management have been working for months to strengthen the midfield department, adding that Tonali is the number one target  as every single member of the management are in agreement regarding his potential signing.

It has been widely reported though that it is Inter who are leading the race for the 20-year-old as they have agreed personal terms and just need to agree a deal with Brescia.

According to both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport (via JuveFC.com) however, Juventus are back in the hunt.

Pirlo was appointed as new Juventus coach yesterday as Maurizio Sarri was sacked after just one season, and the papers claim that the transfer strategy will switch to being one centered around young Italian players.

Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Tonali are mentioned as targets, as is Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
