Reports: Milan and Liverpool joined by Inter and Man Utd in race for €35m-rated defender

AC Milan and Liverpool have been joined by Inter and Manchester United in pursuit of Schalke defender Ozan Kabak, according to a report.

RMC Sport reported last week that that Liverpool and Milan are both interested in the 20-year-old Kabak, who would cost €30-40m, with the Premier League side looking for a defender given Virgil van Dijk will be out for the best part of a year after sustaining ligament damage.

Meanwhile, the Spanish outlet TodoFichajes went one further by claiming negotiations between Liverpool and Schalke 04 are ‘well advanced’ and the deal could be closed at a figure close to €22million.

According to Calciomercato.com, there is not only Milan and Liverpool who are chasing Kabak as the clubs’ two biggest rivals in Inter and Manchester United are also in the running to land him.

Meanwhile, Sport1 are reporting that Schalke will need €35m or more to consider parting with a player they consider an ‘exceptional talent’.
