Reports: Milan want to keep Brahim Diaz – latest on negotiations and Real Madrid’s position

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan want to keep Brahim Diaz beyond the end of his loan spell and negotiations are planned, according to reports.

The Spaniard put in a potential man of the match performance on Sunday night, repaying Stefano Pioli’s faith by scoring a fantastic opening goal and causing Juve’s defence no end of problems during an excellent 3-0 win.

Today’s edition of the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanLive) explains that Edoardo Crnjar – an agent who supports Brahim Diaz’s father in the negotiations – held talks with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara 15 days ago. The two Milan directors said they were satisfied with the player’s performance.

The Rossoneri and Real Madrid had entered into a gentlemen’s pact which provided that a possible renewal of the loan – with the inclusion of an option to buy – would be discussed in the spring. Soon we should understand how the discussions between the parties is progressing, while Paolo Maldini has excellent relations with Los Blancos.

In Spain, the newspaper AS reaffirms Milan’s desire to keep Brahim Diaz but Real Madrid would like to avoid permanently losing a player so young and talented, however the 21-year old playmaker wants more playing time and guarantees. A lot also depends on Zinedine Zidane’s fate.
