Reports: Milan’s predicted XI for Venezia clash – two battles almost decided

Sergio Conceicao is expected to make zero changes to the starting eleven for AC Milan’s clash against Venezia, as two player battles have more or less been decided already.

Milan are still beaming after their 3-0 win against Inter mid-week but in order to keep the momentum going, they need a win against Venezia as well. By the looks of it, as we also touched on in our preview, Conceicao will field the same starting XI once again.

Matteo Gabbia has recovered from his neck discomfort and will be available, expected to play from the first minute as well. Up front, Luka Jovic has impressed big time in the last few weeks and should get renewed trust by the manager.

According to MilanNews, there are only two battles to talk about and these concern the aforementioned players, as Malick Thiaw and Tammy Abraham are knocking on the door. However, the same XI is expected as these battles have more or less been decided already.

Sky Italia is also reporting that the same XI should be fielded by the head coach. Of course, in-game changes are expected and while Milan don’t have a packed schedule, those who played a lot mid-week might be subbed off early depending on the scoreline.

Predicted Milan XI (3-4-3): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Jimenez, Fofana, Reijnders, Hernandez; Pulisic, Jovic, Leao.

  1. I’d rest Leao. Either straight swap for Sottil. Or move Pulisic to the left and play Chukwueze.
And one of Rjeinders or Fofana for Bondo.

Need to get minutes into more of the squad.

    1. I agree. We’ve got more important games coming up. It’s a match like this against Venezia that you play your “B” team

    2. Coach doesn’t wabt to take a risk losing the match means he is a stake of making it worse. Gotta win all remaining matches.

    3. No need to rest anyone. We are already out of UCL long time ago. Just one more cup game ahead besides league games.
Enough is enough. They can bench him earlier

    4. Honestly Chukwueze needs minutes.

Since he scored the winner againts Parma, he got less than 30 minutes in total from 11 matches or so. All the minutes in got is when Milan are lossing and in desperate mode with the play anyhow without order or pattern. It is not qlways easy in that situation.

Pls how can he build consistency? JOVIC just prove that majority of our squad players are not useless but sometimes the weight of the shirt or competing players in the same position or coaching may affect the player form.

But I see good things from Chukwueze in terms of goals with the limited time.

Pulisic needs to rest for today and let Chukwueze start. He contributes the most from the bench with Goals.

      1. To add further perspective especially with the lack of match time.

Chukwueze is in the top 6 rank for goals scorers for Milan in the league this season. He scored 3 l3ague goals.

Chuwueze is in the top 2 rank for goals scorers for Milan in the Coppa Italia this season where he scored 2 goals

In total Chuwueze have contributed 5 goals with limited match time

He needs Match time and if he can’t be played against today’s opponent then is contributions are impacted by the Team handling.
