Reports: Pioli makes his decision regarding the attack to face Genoa – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Thanks to the ruling of the Sporting Judge, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be able to play against Genoa on Sunday afternoon at San Siro.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) it is Rafael Leao who should play in his place, as the Portuguese forward has already shown that he knows how to play the role of centre-forward despite his struggles to score since January.

Leao therefore is the main candidate to replace Ibra, with Mario Mandzukic ready to take over from the bench. Leao broke his scoring drought in the recent match against Parma and Pioli will entrust him, with Rebic starting wide on the left. In the second half there could and should be room for Mandzukic, who has been back at the coach’s disposal for over a week.

Mario is not yet ready to play as a starter, but he can make his contribution during the game and the Croatian wants to make the most of every minute that Pioli will grant him from now to the end of the season to try to convince Milan to keep him.

As Tuttosport reports (via MilanNews), to support Rafa there will be the trio of attacking midfielders formed of Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu and Rebic.
