Reports: Yonghong Li intends to share UEFA fine with Fininvest

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expecting a verdict from UEFA regarding their sanction soon, having failed to comply with the Fifa Financial Fair Play rules.

In fact, today’s reports out of Italy suggest that this decision could arrive in the middle of next week. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as well as La Repubblica, the fine will most likely be valued at around €15-20m.

Furthermore, AC Milan’s owner, Yonghong Li, intends to share this debt with Fininvest, as the issues with FFP existed even before the Chinese investor took over the club. However, it remains unknown of how much Fininvest will pay.

The Rossoneri will be forced to pay one-third of the debt immediately, while the rest only needs to be paid if the club fails to comply with the settlement agreement.
