Repubblica: ‘Everything is possible’ – why Daniel Maldini’s Milan story might not be over

Daniel Maldini’s story with AC Milan might not be over because the management secured favourable terms to potentially bring him back in the future, according to a report.

Today’s edition of La Repubblica (via Radio Rossonera) questions some of the decisions that Milan made regarding exits during the summer, from Pierre Kalulu to Yacine Adli and even Devis Vasquez.

Daniel Maldini, at Monza, has earned a starting spot and a national team call-up. In the meantime, Paulo Fonseca’s 4-2-3-1 has mostly seen the unconvincing Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the playmaker role or Alvaro Morata, who is of course naturally a striker.

The paper adds an interesting footnote: ‘Milan have the right to half of the proceeds from a future resale for Maldini and have reserved the right of first refusal. They will be able to match any offer and, if Daniel agrees, sign him back by paying Monza half of the amount’.

Amid rumours that Inter are considering a shock swoop, Daniel Maldini responded to the idea that he could end up back with the Rossoneri during a press conference yesterday.

“On the possible return to AC Milan I’m not thinking about it, everything is possible but I’m thinking about doing well and then we’ll see at the end of the year,” he said.
