Repubblica: Ibrahimovic’s Milan renewal at a very advanced stage – the details of the agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

Just the signature is missing as AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic seem set to continue their bond for another year, according to a report.

There were rumours that Ibrahimovic would be called up for the Swedish national team ahead of their games later this month and now it is official, but there could be even more good news on the horizon for the 39-year-old amid his return from injury.

According to La Repubblica, Ibrahimovic has practically decided that he will stay another year at Milan and will sign a renewal until 2022. The talks over an extension are in the final phase, but both parties want to continue together.

Milan are happy because they can keep their champion and leader, which will give an extra boost to the team and the environment in the top four race and for a potential Champions League return. Zlatan will pocket a €500k bonus if a CL return happens, but most of all the player is having fun at Milan, he is happy in Italy and wants to return to playing in the Champions League with the Rossoneri.

The final details on the economic level are being filed but it will start from a fixed base – which at the moment is €7.5m net – but above all various bonuses related to individual and team performance will be added.
