Repubblica: Maldini wants PSG defender on loan to replace Romagnoli at Milan

By Isak Möller -

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking for a centre-back on the market to replace Alessio Romagnoli, whose contract with AC Milan has expired. They have set their sights on PSG man, a report claims.

After missing out on Sven Botman, who was their No.1 target for a long time, it seems Milan will opt for a cheaper solution for the defence. The remaining cash will be used to make even better reinforcements for the attack.

According to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), Maldini’s primary target for the defence is Abdou Diallo. The Senegalese international is expected to leave Paris Saint-German this summer to get more playing time and Milan could be the destination.

Milan want him on a loan with an option to buy, per the report, and it remains to be seen if the French side will accept this. Soon, the Rossoneri could accelerate the negotiations and try to close the deal.

  1. Maldini and Massara still shop in Italy? I mean we HAVE to have Italians to meet a quota.

Diallo himself isn’t too bad. A solid option.

  2. This would be a good deal, if it goes through, then Pioli should play with 3 at the back, with Kalulu in the centre and Tomori on the right side, the team would be more mobile and would allow the wing backs to really press forward and destroy opponents.

    1. No doubt it’s a good deal, very promising. But think it’s going to be Diallo on the left, kalulu on the right and tomori in the Middle. Because of his level of consistency and tenacity.
