According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, AC Milan are aiming for a €50m capital gain this transfer window, thus needing to sell a big player.
In fact, a big sale was discussed by Fassone, Mirabelli and Bonucci’s agent Alessandro Lucci during a meeting yesterday. Premier League side Man Utd are currently preparing an offer for the defender, according to Repubblica, which would be valued at €32m.
This figure would not be enough to cover the capital gain itself, however, Milan would also save €14m gross per year in salaries. Furthermore, Repubblica claim that Milan are already looking for a replacement to Bonucci.
