Respected German journalist on Rangnick to Milan rumours: “I think it will happen”

By Oliver Fisher -

German journalist Christian Falk believes that Ralf Rangnick will take over at AC Milan at the end of the current season.

Bild claimed earlier in the month that Rangnick – the current head of development for Red Bull football – is in advanced talks to take over as Milan head coach and sporting director for next season.

Calciomercato.com then reported on Tuesday that the German is aware his name is now in the public domain and his hope is to wipe out any doubts about his future as soon as possible, even with a public announcement or confirmation from Milan.

Meanwhile, French outlet L’Equipe went one further by claiming Rangnick has in fact already signed a deal with the Rossoneri and that there would be a big financial party if the club went back on it.

Now, SportBild and Bild journalist Christian Falk – a respected journalist in Germany – has had his say on the situation. When asked about the rumours by a Milan fan on Twitter, he responded: “I think it will happen”.

This is despite Paolo Maldini claiming last week that Milan are happy with Stefano Pioli and that Rangnick is not the right fit for the club.
