Maldini insists AC Milan are happy with Pioli; says Rangnick isn’t the ‘right profile’

In recent days, there have been a lot of rumours about Stefano Pioli’s future with AC Milan. With many believing that he isn’t the right man to lead Milan forward, the fascination for Ralf Rangnick has increased.

The rumours linking the German with the Rossoneri haven’t gone unnoticed, that’s for sure, with Bild suggesting that he could get a revolutionary role at the club. In fact, he would act as the sporting director and the manager.

Assessing Milan’s current situation, Paolo Maldini spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) ahead of the clash with Juventus tomorrow. The club legend was asked about the future of Pioli and the rumours linking them with Rangnick.

“Pioli? We are happy with him, because he took over in a difficult situation and there were few certainties. He has imposed himself and made the young players grow, giving the team an identity.

“His future? From now until the end of the season, many things can happen. All of us, but above all managers and directors live on results. We are really happy with Pioli’s work. We will sit down at the end of the season in May.

“Rangnick? I read this. Honestly, as a director of the sporting area, with due respect, I don’t think he’s the right profile to associate with Milan,” he concluded.

In other words, nothing is done yet, unlike what some reports have claimed. It only makes sense to at least give Pioli until the end of the season before making a decision, although time is running out for the manager.
