Ismael Bennacer was confirmed as AC Milan’s fourth signing of the summer on Sunday, joining from Empoli.
He joins left-back Theo Hernandez, forward Rafael Leao and former team-mate Rade Krunic at San Siro as Marco Giampaolo’s squad overhaul continues.
The young Algerian has arrived on a deal believed to be worth €16million plus €2m in potential bonuses, seemingly a bargain capture given the inflated nature of today’s market.
The midfielder started in the AFCON final, playing an important role in Algeria’s 1-0 win over Senegal and going on to be named as the Player of the Tournament.
Now, however, he’s preparing for a new adventure in his career, set to sign a five-year deal with the Rossoneri and is on a reported €1.5m-a-season salary.
MilanNews.it have confirmed that the former Arsenal academy starlet will begin his work at Milanello on 10 August.
