Romano: AC Milan likely to part ways with Paqueta in January amid PSG interest

Lucas Paquetà and AC Milan are likely to part ways in January. This is what Fabrizio Romano writes in his latest piece for Calciomercato.com, amid rumours linking the Brazilian midfielder with a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG.

However, as he continues, it will only be done on the Rossoneri’s terms. In the last few hours, the Milan management even made it clear to Paqueta’s entourage that they won’t make any discounts.

Paris Saint-Germain are serious in their pursuit of the player, as Leonardo is carrying out the operation. The sporting director is a huge admirer of the Milan no.39, having brought him to the club a year ago.

As of now, though, Leonardo hasn’t submitted an acceptable offer yet. That is, at least €30-35m as an overall evaluation, per Romano. The midfielder has already said yes to the move, but Milan won’t back down.

Maldini, Boban and Massara were clear with Paquetà and those close to him: to sell him in January, an important offer is needed and the player’s yes is not enough. Soon, as Romano states, the parties will have new contacts to evaluate the situation.
