Ismael Bennacer is enjoying a very good moment after what has been a few positive games in a row for him. Yesterday, he scored the winner for AC Milan as they beat Cagliari by one goal to nil.
Milan are well-aware of his qualities and have been working on a contract renewal for quite some time now, with the current deal set to expire in 2024. In addition, there is also a €50m release clause for foreign teams.
According to the latest report from Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri are set to complete the renewal of Bennacer ‘in the coming weeks’. They are also working on a renewal for Rafael Leao and both players want to stay at the club.
Bennacer’s new contract, as per Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), should be around €3.2m per year plus bonuses. It would be quite the step up from the €1.5m he currently earns. It remains to be seen what will happen with the release clause.
