Romano: ‘Positive feelings’ filter as Milan continue talks over Leao’s renewal

By Isak Möller -

After securing the renewal of Theo Hernandez, AC Milan are now working on a few others and one of them is that of Rafael Leao. There is confidence that an agreement can be reached very soon, a report claims.

The winger has been one of the best players in Serie A at the start of 2022 and Milan are well aware of this. Currently on €1.5m per year, a pay rise is warranted for the Portuguese winger and talks are ongoing between the parties.

On his Twitter page, Fabrizio Romano provided a short update on the renewal as he shared a video of Leao’s 100-game milestone ceremony. By the looks of it, an agreement could be reached soon.

“Milan are working to extend his contract as soon as possible. Positive feelings – talks ongoing to reach full agreement,” he wrote.

Although Franck Kessie is expected to leave the club this summer and not renew his contract, you cannot blame the management for his excessive demands. The players that are reasonable and want to stay at the club, are seemingly getting their renewals.
