Romano: ‘Untouchable’ Milan star has ‘never been an option for Arsenal’ – renewal imminent

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to extend the contract of Sandro Tonali with a move to the Premier League never even being a remote possibility, it is claimed.

A number of English sources picked up on a story from a Calciomercato.it video in which a journalist claimed that Arsenal met with Milan officials to discuss a possible deal for Tonali. It was reported as part of the story that the Rossoneri management would be willing to accept a bid of €55m, which drew a few laughs.

According to Fabrizio Romano however, Tonali has ‘never been an option for Arsenal’ or any other English club this summer because the Milan management consider him to be ‘untouchable’ after his breakout season during the Scudetto-winning campaign.

Not only that, but Tonali is going to sign a new contract with Milan in the next few weeks which will be valid until June 2027, therefore an extension by an extra two seasons.

Therefore, the Italy international will be the latest to pen fresh terms with Milan as they look to safeguard their future core following Fikayo Tomori’s contract extension.
