RR: Napoli continue to press for €32m Milan midfielder amid Arsenal, Newcastle links

AC Milan’s Serie A rivals Napoli are ‘continuing to work’ on trying to sign midfielder Franck Kessie in the upcoming window, a report claims.

Earlier on Monday, it was reported by TMW that Everton, Napoli and Newcastle are all interested in Kessie – a player who Milan do not deem unsellable – while Arsenal have also been linked.

Several outlets have reported that the Ivorian could be set to depart this summer despite the fact he has held down a spot in the starting XI for the majority of his three-year spell at the club.

According to Radio Rossonera journalist Pietro Balzano Prota on Twitter, Napoli are continuing to work on the track leading to Kessie.

Their current defensive midfielder Allan must first leave the club in order for the move to take place but Kessie – who head coach Gennaro Gattuso would gladly reunite with – could soon become a concrete target for the Neapolitans.

Kessie was purchased from Atalanta for a total of €32million when factoring in the paid loan, option to buy and bonuses that have accrued over the years, and now his residual value on the balance sheet is €12.8million.
