Sacchi praises Maldini and Massara for ‘excellent job’ at Milan: “Great results”

With just five games left of the Serie A season, AC Milan are still in the Scudetto race as they sit at the top of the standings. And as highlighted by Arrigo Sacchi, the Rossoneri have their directors to thank for it.

Since Elliott Management took over the club in 2018, Milan have gone from strength to strength and that is also thanks to the work of their directors. From CEO Ivan Gazidis to technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara.

In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), former Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi took the opportunity to praise the aforementioned trio for their work at the club. After all, the Rossoneri are in the Scudetto race for the first time in ten years.

“Maldini and Massara have done an excellent job, and Gazidis has always been attentive to the budget and never allowed dangerous operations. Maldini and Massara have bought young players, semi-known, and this can only be done by those who really understand football. Furthermore, the number of season tickets has increased and the team is fighting to win the Scudetto. Great results,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Maldini and Massara, as well as Gazidis, will stay at the club in the event of a takeover. Elliott Management are in advanced talks with the Arab fund Investcorp and it looks like an agreement will be reached fairly soon.
