AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers hailed an ‘important victory’ as the Rossoneri took top spot in Group E after a 3-1 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb.
The Belgian got his name on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 just after half-time following Olivier Giroud’s penalty that had opened the scoring, and Tommaso Pobega added a third for the Rossoneri after Orsic had halved the deficit.
Saelemaekers spoke to Milan TV after the game against Dinamo Zagreb to discuss the team’s performance and of course his goal, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“Today’s victory was important. We played at our level with our mentality. Now we have to focus on the Napoli match which will be important for us. We are fine, we are smart and we saw it again today. I am happy with these three points,” he said.
“I’m working on my numbers, still today I helped the team with this goal and I’m very happy.”
On the match against Napoli: “We know that against Napoli it is always difficult to play. We have to prepare well mentally and play at our level. If we do, we can do something nice this weekend.”
