Salzburg captain Ulmer labels Milan forward as ‘exceptional’ ahead of Champions League clash

By Euan Burns -

RB Salzburg captain Andreas Ulmer has said that AC Milan striker Rafael Leao is ‘exceptional’ and admitted to the team watching videos of him play.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of the game on Tuesday night (via Milan News), Ulmer did not hold back in his praise of Leao who scored twice in the Milan derby at the weekend.

He was the Serie A MVP and he is likely to be the player that Salzburg have been focusing the most on in the run up to the game.

The comments from Ulmer certainly back that up as he said that the team have been watching videos of the Portuguese forward to prepare for the match.

“Leao is exceptional, in the last few games he has proved it, we have seen videos, not only of him but also of the whole team,” Ulmer said.

“They are very good, I think it’s not about a single player, but how we all play together, how much we invest in defence, how we support each other. We have already shown several times that we enjoy ourselves, we remain open-minded.”

The other two teams in the Champions League group are Chelsea and Dinamo Zagreb and they will face each other in the early kick off in Croatia. The Milan match will be at 21:00 local time in Austria.

  1. I think they will guard leao at ALL COST during the match. So it’s either leao will dance toward the goal or the midfield and RW have to support and contribute to make a goal from their side.
