Sampdoria struggling with centre-back crisis ahead of Milan game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s opponents on Saturday night Sampdoria are struggling with multiple injuries in their defensive department, they have confirmed.

Sampdoria’s website reports that they were meant to have a double training session today but after an intense morning session where they worked on strength and tactics on the field, Marco Giampaolo and staff canceled the afternoon session.

They are suffering with some problems in the centre-back department as Omar Colley worked in the pool as he looks to shift the after-effects of a blow to the right knee suffered on Sunday in Verona).

Jeison Murillo suffered a sprain trauma to the right ankle while Alex Ferrari worked on his own, which means the three main centre-backs that Giampaolo has at his disposal are currently sidelined.

Fabio Quagliarella prematurely interrupted the training session due to back discomfort, while there was a specific workout on the field for Simone Trimboli and work in the gym for Harry Winks.
