San Siro prepares for extra time: six games in 18 days

By Isak Möller -

The calm before the storm. Serie A is currently on a break as a result of the international clashes, but in a few days, it will get serious once again. In fact, in the next 18 days, six matches will be played at the San Siro.

It starts with Inter-Udinese on September 14th, three days before the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Slavia Prague. Then, on the 21st, the long-awaited derby will take place, which is expected to be a sell-out. Thus far, over 60K tickets have been sold (via Calciomercato.com).

Following the derby, the mid-week clash between Inter and Lazio (September 26th) will be played in addition to the Rossoneri’s game against Fiorentina (September 29th). The row of games will be concluded by Atalanta, who are borrowing the stadium for their Champions League adventure.

Giampaolo’s side will take on Hellas Verona away from home in their next league match. After beating Brescia, they will be looking to continue their good spell, redeeming themselves for the loss in the opening game.
