GdS: Sanches is still the primary midfield target for Milan

By Euan Burns -

Lille midfielder Renato Sanches is still AC Milan’s priority signing for that area of the squad, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today (via Milan News), the Rossoneri still think that he is the best profile on the market to slot into their midfield and bring more pace and creativity now that Franck Kessie is no longer at the club.

That is why they have been working on the deal for so many months. A deal is loosely already in place with the Ligue 1 side and until recently it seemed like a foregone conclusion that he would be joining Stefano Pioli’s side.

Then the interest from Paris Saint Germain arrived and that turned the Portuguese players’ head.

The Ligue 1 champions would be able to offer him a higher wage than Milan but they have not actually made a bid for him yet despite threatening to do so.

  1. Ok sure but sanches is waiting for PSG to raise their offer just because they “threatened” to do so we shouldn’t to waste too much time. I’ll say leave him use 5 mill to bolster CDK offer and then try find someone close to sanches maybe khephren thuram as a loan with the option to buy and that’s how you solve the problem with Club Brugge

  2. I usually don’t get too nervous during the transfer windows but seriously this one is tough. Almost every title contender in Serie A is strengthening their squads. Inter, Juve, Roma, Lazio ….. and what do we do? Origi? We have not spent any money and yet we are playing hard ball with Club Brugge over 3M ….. I’m trying to have faith, but it’s hard

  3. Good news milanisti: Leeds are closing in on Kalimuendo as they’ve given up on trying for De Ketelaere therefore if the signing goes through, Brugge can’t use Leeds’ original 37 mil offer as leverage unless Leeds try get De Ketelaere as well (highly doubt it since they’ve now out of nowhere gone for Kalimuendo and the prem season starts in less than 15 days

    1. To add on that; He has been left out of, Club Brugge’s match day squad for their season opener against Genk, this Sunday….

  4. I still don’t understand how we got into all this mess with these rubbish investors over the years. No one is asking them to spend €1bn in this transfer, but they ought to make sacrifices to get the quality players that have even the least desire to join Milan. We lost Botman to Newcastle, Leeds is dragging CDK with us, n PSG for Sanches. Those who identified these players know what they saw in them. Do we always have to spend less on mediocre players. We may have won the league last season, but, can we defend it without quality reinforcements? Or have we forgotten the champions league, and the coppa Italia?
