Sassuolo boss Dionisi feeling calm ahead of Milan clash: “It doesn’t worry us at all”

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo head coach Alessio Dionisi has described the upcoming game against AC Milan on Sunday as a ‘stimulating’ game, that does ‘not worry them’.

Milan secured a 2-0 victory against Atalanta at San Siro yesterday evening to move themselves within a point of winning the Scudetto as second half goals from Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez ensured that the 75,000+ crowd went home happy.

Inter took care of business against Cagliari in Sardinia last night to ensure that the Scudetto battle will go down to the final round of the season, but they need to beat Sampdoria and hope that Sassuolo defeat Milan at the Mapei Stadium.

Dionisi was interviewed by Sky after Sassuolo’s 3-1 win against Bologna yesterday and was asked about the game against Milan, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews.

“Honestly, it doesn’t worry us at all. It’s stimulating. We want to finish well and we will try to honour the season until the end. We know what the value of the match is for our opponent and we are only more motivated by this, also because the stadium will be full like few other times in the season,” he said.

“May the best team win, which is probably our opponent, but we will try because we want to finish the season in the best possible way. There will be the risk of not doing well against Milan. Milan deserves what they have done so far, we will do everything to get to 53 points and reverse the prediction.”

  1. The attacking 4 of Sassuolo are very good together and individually. Hopefully we can outscore them because i think they could score.

  2. Anyone on this message board going to go to the AC Milan bar in NYC to watch the Sassuolo match?

It’s at Football Factory at Legends — address 6 West 33rd Street near the Empire State Building.

    1. I just checked their website, it doesn’t seem like they are showing the game because the EPL final round is at the same time?

      1. I just called the bar and the lady said they’ll definitely show the game because they have 38 televisions.

But I just emailed the AC Milan Club of NYC to ask them and make sure that there will be an area dedicated just to rossoneri fans. I will see what they reply.
