Sassuolo CEO responds to Rogerio-Milan links: “Maybe in the next few days”

AC Milan have not yet opened talks with Sassuolo over Rogerio but could do in the coming days, according to their CEO Giovanni Carnevali.

Theo Hernandez is the undisputed starter in the left-back position for the Rossoneri, but his only deputy last season was Fode Ballo-Toure who the club are keen to sell as shown by the fact that they have left him out of their preseason tour of the USA.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier in the week, Sassuolo’s Rogerio appears to be a possible option to replace the Senegal international.

One of his major selling points is that he holds an Italian passport and can be used in the Champions League, removing one registration headache for Milan.

During his interview on Rai Sport, the CEO Sassuolo – Giovanni Carnevali – was asked about the potential sale of the Brazilian and in particular about the links with a potential move to Milan.

“There has been no negotiation with Milan for Rogerio, we have other opportunities but not with Milan at the moment. Maybe in the next few days days they will come too,” he said (via MilanNews).
