Sassuolo CEO speaks on the future of Scamacca and Berardi amid Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali spoke about the situations regarding Gianluca Scamacca and Domenico Berardi as both continue to be linked with a move away.

Carnevali spoke to la Gazzetta dello Sport to talk about the situations regarding Scamacca and Berardi, who continue to be heavily linked with a potential switch away from the Neroverdi and Milan are one of the clubs who have been linked with both players.

“Gianluca has grown a lot. Temperamentally, above all. He still has a lot of room for improvement, he has not completed his full technical maturity,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).

“We still need to give him the chance to miss a few games and not expect him to be perfect at 23. But he can handle the responsibilities of a demanding market very well. And playing among already established champions, he will grow even more.”

On the possibility of World Cup backlash for Berardi: “Knowing Domenico well, I know he is suffering from defeat, not from the miss, because he is a winner and would always like to win.

“The elimination from the World Cup certainly hurt him. He missed an important goal, it’s true, but for me he was one of the best on the pitch. He worked hard, he finished a lot. Mimmo knows how to take responsibility for him. He is a leader, he is strong in the head.”

La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews) recently reported that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have set their sights on the Sassuolo duo and will meet with them soon to accelerate the negotiations.

In fact, they are willing to put €30m and €15m on the table for Scamacca and Berardi respectively. A significant investment which the Neroverdi, however, deem too low.
