AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has reassured fans that there is no risk of Paolo Maldini or Ricky Massara leaving the club when their contracts expire.
There is now less than two weeks until the technical director and sporting director’s contracts run out and although there are a lot of reports suggesting they will renew before the deadline, the fact their future has been allowed to be up in the air for so long has drawn some scepticism and criticism.
Scaroni spoke to the microphones of ‘La Politica nel Pallone’ on Gr Parliament and he was asked about the renewals of Maldini and Massara, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“The change of ownership in this somewhat crucial moment has delayed many things, but everything is an idyllic atmosphere of relationships. I don’t worry much about the Maldini-Massara issue, I have no doubt that an agreement will be reached whereby this duo, which was so important, will continue with us in the coming years,” he said.
Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reported this morning that either today and/or tomorrow the negotiations for the extension of the duo will come to life. Maldini and Massara have yet to find a decisive agreement with RedBird Capital on their operation margins but the talks should help to iron out the issues and a three-year contract is ready for both.
