Olivier Giroud wants to join AC Milan this summer and his entourage are at work with Chelsea to make it happen, a report claims.
It has been a confusing few days surrounding Giroud’s future as the French striker seemed all set to agree a deal with Milan as a free agent given his contract was expiring on June 30, but then Chelsea announced they had trigged their option of a one-year extension thus keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2022.
Since then though a number of sources have reported that Giroud is still likely to leave this summer. According to the latest from journalist Nicolo Schira, the ‘first choice’ for the 34-year-old is still a move to Milan, who have offered a two-year deal worth €4m net per season. Now Giroud and his agent are waiting for Chelsea’s green light to leave without a transfer fee, as promised in the event that a foreign club came in.
