Schira: Romagnoli could end up at Barcelona as Milan want to complete signing of Chelsea man

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems that Alessio Romagnoli could have a new adventure abroad as he is not part of AC Milan’s plans, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com recently reported how the Italian defender appears set to depart Milan when the window opens, one year from when his contract expires. Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have made a choice based on technical and economic criteria and they have determined that he is not needed.

According to what is being reported by journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter, Romagnoli’s new destination could be LaLiga and more specifically Barcelona. If Samuel Umtiti leaves, Romagnoli could be the man who the Catalan side choose to try and replace him as a left-sided centre-back option.

The Rossoneri are looking to sign Fikayo Tomori on a permanent deal and Romagnoli is not a priority for Pioli and Maldini, with talks over a contract extension (his current deal expires in 2022) on stand-by from many months.
