Scout confirms Arsenal midfielder wants Serie A return amid persistent Milan links

AC Milan are looking for a midfielder on the market, having said goodbye to the likes of Lucas Biglia and Jack Bonaventura. Above all, they need a player that can allow Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie some rest.

For many years now, ever since his time at Sampdoria, the Rossoneri have been linked with Lucas Torreira. The 24-year-old is the perfect profile for the team as he made a name for himself in Serie A as a defensive midfielder with great passing.

According to Chris Wheatley, Milan are in pole position to sign Torreira this September and the formula could be a loan, but whether that involves an option or obligation to buy remains to be seen. Furthermore, the player wants a return to Serie A.

In an interview with Radio Bruno, as cited by MilanNews.it, Roberto Druda revealed that he spoke to Torreira recently. The scout, who brought the midfielder to Pescara back in the day, confirmed that he would like a move to Italy.

“Yesterday morning, I talked to Lucas, but not about Fiorentina or other teams. I know he would like to return to Italy, I don’t know if La Viola are ahead of the others,” he stated.
