Following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s retirement at the end of the 2022-23 season, rumours have been rife regarding his potential return to AC Milan and what capacity it may be in.
At 41 years old and able to boast an impressive 24-year-long career filled with silverware, the Swede decided it was time to hang up his boots after a season that showed the status of his body.

However, it was never imagined that Zlatan would stay away from football for long, especially not away from Milan – the club, which he expressed several times to be one of his dearest loves and a city where he felt truly at home.
In recent weeks, rumours have swirled regarding what role Zlatan may have with the Rossoneri. When Luca Serafini spoke on Carlo Pellegatti’s Youtube channel (via MilanNews) he said: “He will have a role in Milan and, knowing him, it certainly won’t be a marginal role. He will be an operational consultant, so maybe he will also have a say in the choice of players for example.”
Given the former striker’s time in his most recent spell at the club involved him being a leader in the dressing room, having a role that may allow him to use these same qualities would add another string to Milan’s bow.

As long as Pioli doesn’t have a say in choice of players we are good.
Serafini and all the other don’t know what he’s been offered. And they’re guessing….”He will be an operational consultant, so maybe he will also have a say in the choice of players for example.”
What does that even mean? He’ll be the one choosing the players on the transfer market? Why not the coach…who allegedly is the center of the project? Or is he choosing players for the youth team…in which case …again…isn’t there a coach and set of scouts? How about choosing players from the youth to first team….again…how does that fit with the current coach and center of the project? What if Ibra disagrees with someone else’s choice or ppl disagree with his choices whatever that means. Why bring in another person to create these potential issues? We apparently laid off ones that were causing disruptions no? This all seems farcical to me. I really want to see what he’s agreeing to ….maybe that’s why he hasn’t signed anything yet
