The opening of the January transfer window is now just 10 days away, and a report has outlined what can be expected from AC Milan next month.
MilanNews reports that a big winter market is not expected, but in reality there are many situations that must be addressed which should keep interest high as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara look to strengthen the squad where possible.
The main suspects in terms of departures are Marko Lazetic and Yacine Adli who could both leave on loan, even if at the moment there are no offers and even if they did arrive they would have to be deemed satisfactory.
Furthermore, it seems difficult to imagine that Milan to find teams willing to accept the terms needed to land Tiemoue Bakayoko and/or Fode Ballo-Touré.
In terms of signings, there could be movement if the injuries of Mike Maignan and Divock Origi should require several months of absence. Marco Sportiello is on the list, but there are no plans at present to sign a striker.
The question of renewals is obviously very delicate. During the week there was a meeting between Enzo Raiola, Bennacer’s agent, and the Rossoneri management at Casa Milan. Optimism filters, with Milan having raised their offer while they know the player wants to stay.
As is known, the Rafael Leao situation is more complicated. A new summit with the winger’s lawyer is scheduled for January, while in the meantime the parties will try to smooth out the problems related to the fine to be paid to Sporting CP.
I expect nothing from Milan’s management. they seem bereft of ideas, thus will not do the needful by selling unused players, selling players and reinvesting the money to strengthen the squad. This is Milan’s MO. and it’s annoying
