Simon Kjaer makes his Milan return 242 days after ligament injury – photo

There was a fantastic moment within AC Milan’s 2-0 friendly win over Marseille at the Stade Velodrome as Simon Kjaer made his long-awaited return.

The 33-year-old has spent a long time out as he sustained a serious injury back on 1 December 2021 against Genoa, suffering the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the medial collateral ligament, meaning he had to watch on the sidelines as his team-mates won the Scudetto.

After a long rehab stint in which the medical staff understandably took zero risks, he came on for the final stages of tonight’s win against Marseille.
