AC Milan have made their stance clear regarding the future of Hakan Calhanoglu with his contract set to expire, a journalist has claimed.
Luca Marchetti spoke live in the Sky Italia studio (via MilanNews) and gave a round-up on the Rossoneri’s current situation heading into the summer market, including the fact that the club are exploring the potential modification of the option to buy deals for Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali.
He went on to discuss the situation related to Calhanoglu, whose contract is set to expire at the end of next month with nothing to suggest that an agreement over a renewal is imminent. The Gianluigi Donnarumma scenario sent a message: Milan do not intend to wait for any player, and the project must continue regardless.
Atalanta’s Josip Ilicic is a possible replacement for Calhanoglu, and if the Slovenian were to leave Bergamo he will be able to do so with the same formula Papu Gomez left with: a fee of €5-6m. Ilicic has 56 goals and 39 assists in 149 games for La Dea.

I wish Milan had the money to get Pedro Gonçalves from Sporting Lisbon to replace Hakan. He’s 22 years old, has great potential, he can get to be as good as Bruno Fernandes, or better, top player in one or two years.
