Despite recent reports, Cristian Zapata could end up staying at Milan as the Rossoneri management have suddenly changed their approach.
The Colombian’s contract expires at the end of the season and up until now, his departure has been more or less confirmed. However, as reported by Sky Italia, Milan are considering offering him a contract renewal.
In fact, in the coming days, a meeting will take place between the parties to discuss the potential renewal. The role of the defender would, of course, be limited. However, he would be an important asset for the team as he can provide experience for the young guns.
It remains to be seen how the negotiations will end, though if an agreement were to be reached, Zapata’s salary will be heavily decreased. Possibly, his current salary could be spread over two years rather than one.
