Sky: Bennacer’s renewal ‘simpler’ than Leao’s – his probable new salary

By Oliver Fisher -

The renewal of Ismael Bennacer’s contract should be far more straightforward than that of Rafael Leao, according to a report.

Speaking on Sky (via MilanNews), Manuele Baiocchini gave some updates on the renewals that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working on, including the Rafael Leao saga in which a limit of €6m net per season has apparently been set.

Baiocchini went on to speak about Bennacer and remarked that the Algerian midfielder’s situation seems to be simpler because the figures would fall within the Rossoneri’s parameters that they have set for the most important players.

For Bennacer, his new salary shouldn’t go above €3.5m net per season, and therefore it seems much more straightforward than Leao’s because he is currently asking for around double that amount.

La Gazzetta dello Sport meanwhile are reporting Bennacer has an agreement in principle over a new contract that will see him triple his current salary and extend the deadline from the current 2024 to 2027.

  1. Grande Benna, what a player and I’m surprised a player of his quality is satisfied with 3.5 in this generation but obviously we’ll definitely take it!
